Getting Relevant Adsense Ads on Your Site

Targetted Adsense AdvertisingGoogle Adsense is an easy way to make revenue with your website or blog. It is one of the easiest forms of monetizing a site in terms of ease of use.

The tradeoff for this easy installation ad use is the control of ads, as in…you don’t have much. For the most part Google controls which ads appear in the Adsense box on your site, but you can help to bring more relevant ads to your site by employing a few simple strategies.

Why is relevant content so important?

Google’s Adsense bots look first for keyword density within your content when determining ads for your site. If the ads appearing on your site seem completely off-base to your topic, look at your keyword density. There are a host of keyword density tools on the web that will let you see which words are appearing more often than others.  Chances are if you are not utilizing keywords effectively, your ads will be off and it’s time to do some rewriting and SEO.

Start with a Google search for target keywords for your site. For example, if you are selling bicycles, search bicycles in Google. Now look to the ads at the top and right of the screen. Are these ads effective for your site? If they are not, try utilizing other words with the same meaning or message or keyword phrase until you see some ads more relevant to your target audience. You can also try using this great Google Ads Preview Tool to test out keywords or check over your site.  It can be quite a learning experience.

Once you have keywords that you know will bring in ads you desire, start using them in your content.

Look for the hidden killers.

If you have revamped your content but are still seeing only a slight improvement, then you may want to check the other areas of your blog or site for other relevancy killers. Here are some areas to check for an over usage of terms not relevant to your keywords.

  • Page Titles
  • Headlines
  • Navigation
  • Image Descriptions and alt tags
  • URLs
  • Category Titles
  • Tag Clouds
  • Headers

Remember, the bots scan your entire site. If you are overusing irrelevant language in any of these key areas, you are sending out the wrong message to the bots. They are reading what they see and trying to bring in ads that seem to be the best fit for what they are reading.

Why you should add a Google Search Box to your site.

Google gives site owners a very easy way to bring more relevant ads to your site with Google Site Search. If you add the Google Search Box to your blog or website you actually allow your visitors to assist in bringing in ads relevant to their own unique search. Google will utilize the terms put into the search box to help generate Adsense ads on your site. You are not going to get more targeted than that my friends so get one of these up right away.

It may take some additional tweaking to get more relevant Adsense ads on your site, but at last you now have a starting point. Do your own research as well and you’ll soon see that revenue increase as a result of your efforts.

Vital Elements of Content Marketing Today

Website Marketing Strategy

Content marketing is a catchall term to describe the process of getting your message out to the masses.  It is not a new concept; it has been around as long as the sales pitch.  Only today, the mediums have changed.

What one time would have been a brochure or handout has now become a Facebook status update, email, or a tweet to your followers.  This poses a bit of a problem for old school marketers who may still be trying to use and old method on a new system.

These traditionalists soon learn that today’s consumer is not digesting information in the same way and that their one mailer or newsletter will quickly be lost amidst the fast paced social media.

If this is you, your content marketing strategy needs a makeover.

1. Learn what is available

Begin with the basics. Learn what your marketing avenues are and how each works. Join Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube and become part of the conversation. You can read about how they all work, but to truly understand it you have to be an active member of the community.

2. Know what your market is looking for

Once you become familiar with the options you have available to you, start asking questions or looking for them. Seek out your target audience and see what they are searching for and what problems exist which you can potentially solve for them. Create content specific to that market.

3. Know what to use where

Knowing what type of content is best marketed in each venue will be an integral part of your strategy. Readers expect to find certain information in their respective places, so be sure you have the right messages out there. Don’t fill up a blog with a barrage of short updates which are better placed on Twitter and don’t write 15 tweets to get a larger message across, blog it instead.

4. Use them all

Be prepared to tackle each type of content. You have to be able to transform your message to fit each marketing arena. Learn to create video, PowerPoint presentations, and email campaigns with your content. It must be pliable and reusable.

5. Help them find it

I see so many people miss the mark with this one. They work so hard on their blog, articles, or sales pitch and then it is lost on their website because no one knows it exists. Learn and put into practice SEO and social networking with every piece of content you create. You have worked so hard to make it great…now work hard to get it out there!

6. Help them understand how to use it

So you are up to speed with your newly developed content marketing skills, but now your customers are falling behind. Your solution: Teach them how to use it. Direct them to tutorial on using social media so they can become part of the conversation. You don’t have to create these tutorials, they are everywhere. Just post them on your site or within your blog post with some simple anchor text strategically placed within your copy.

The vital elements of content marketing today are different, but not impossible to understand. Adapt your old ideas to the new techniques and the winning combination will get you back in the game with your potential customers.

The Gain of Giving It Away

The Gain of Giving It Away

Whatever You Are Giving Away, Is It Really Free?

Every marketer knows the value of having a free give away on your site or blog in order to build a list. It is a well-known strategy; I give you this 25 page free report and the only thing I ask is you give me your email address. To most visitors, this transaction seems completely free and they are able to obtain a valuable report for free, but it is not completely free.

Seth Godin’s Take on  What is Free

As Seth Godin points out in this WebInkNow video, this is considered more of a transaction then a true give away. The reader is, in essence, giving you their email in exchange for the report. That is not a true give away. A true give away is passing on free information, either through your blog, a book, eBook, or other means for the sole purpose or getting your idea out into the masses. There is no expectation on your part, just a need to pass on your knowledge because you feel there is great value in teaching it to or sharing it with others.

Benefits of Giving Away

There can be a number of benefits which arise, either intentionally or not, by giving away information for free. The most important is spreading an idea with your name on it. This is valuable for a few reasons. First, you gain reputation as an authority on said idea and will be sought after for further discussion on the topic by anyone who may come across your information and find it valuable to themselves or their readers, student and such. Second, you gain trust. There is no transaction, no exchange or expectation of the receiver having to give something to you in exchange for this information. The information immediately takes on a greater value to the receiver since they feel as though they have been given a gift and third, the receiver is more inclined to pass the material on and gift it to others that they feel may also find value in it. It was initially free after all.

What should be Given Away?

If you truly believe in an idea and feel that there is greater value in the idea itself than in any benefit you may gain from monetizing it, then giving it away comes down to the personal gratification one feels when their idea becomes well known. The added benefits that may or may not arise take second stage. It may be difficult for an artist to give away their work. Even the smallest project involves a piece of us and our time. There are moments when we feel that tug to gain monetarily from it and we tend to forget the value of the piece in terms of passing on our knowledge to others. If we are truly committed to an idea then it would personally benefit us to have that idea accepted, appreciated and practiced by others. The value in that is immeasurable.

Do You Have Anything To Give Away?

Try to think of something that you may have that you could truly give for free. No expectations, no string, just give it away. I can almost predict the positive impact it could have on you and your business in the future. Go on, give it a try!

What are your thoughts on the subject? let me now through your comments.

Choosing a Great Blog Topic

Choosing A Blog Topic

What Should Be My Topic?

Starting a blog is a great way to write about subjects that interest you with an added bonus of making money. If you are new to the blogging world it is important to be aware of the dedication it will require of you and the blog will need an entry at least once per week (ideally once a day or more) in order to keep it current and interesting.

Finding a topic that you are passionate about will be beneficial in maintaining your blog because, if you choose a topic that you think will be a good one for making money, but you have no interest in the topic, you will lose interest in the maintenance.  However, you want to also choose a theme for your blog that will be interesting to the most people (childcare) or a direct group of people with a specific interest (diabetes).  Your content has to please the audience above all else so, although passion is good readership is king.

Once you have decided on the main theme of your blog, make a list of at least 10 – 20 topics that will interest your readers.  The goal is to choose what you will have an interest in writing about on a daily basis while giving your readers information they will want to see. For example, if you were to do a blog about children, each day you could write about crafts, clothing, school or vacations, anything that would interest others and want them to come to your site daily to get new ideas or tips.

Beside each topic make notes for sub topics that will increase the information for the primary topic. If you are having difficulties thinking of subtopics, remove the topic from your list. Continue to find the most subtopics for each topic. When you have your list completed, choose three of the ones with the most subtopics.

After the niche list has been narrowed down to three possible topics, it is time to search the keywords. Go to a site such as Google keywords and type in the topics one at a time. Each keyword will give you a list of results of the topics people are searching with the given keyword in the search. Do a search for each topic you have chosen and keep notes about which keywords had the most searches.

Go to forums that are based on your three topics and/or subtopics. Read what others are saying and what questions are being asked about a particular topic. When you are on the forums it is important to pay attention to what they are advertising and products that are being promoted. If there is a product that is not being largely advertised, but it is a great product of your site, this is something to consider as part of your advertising.

Go to blogs that are similar to the topics you are considering. Read what others are posting on the site and study the feedback if any they have received regarding their blog. Review as many different blogs by others that you can. This will not only give you a general idea of what is working or not working, but will let you know if the web is already bombarded with a particular subject. Try to choose a subject that has interest to others, but not already being overdone.

The most important thing you can do when starting a new blog without have a good understanding of how they work, is to research, read, research and study. In other words the more you research a subject the better understanding you will have about it. Read everything you can on how to start a successful blog and take notes of the important concepts of each article you read. Then combine all of the best parts into your own style.

After you have researched, read other blogs and went to the forums it should be an easy choice between your three topics for the title of your blog. Remember to keep it interesting, fun and up to date in order to have a great flow of traffic to your site.

Unique and Effective Ways to Promote a Blog

Unique and Effective Ways to Promote a Blog

Welcome To Blogging!

Now that you have the blog subject and have started on the content, it is time to begin promoting it. The more you promote your site, the better chance you will have of getting a lot of viewers. Marketing your blog will be the largest contribution you can make to bring people to it. You can make money with a blog that is well put together, interesting and promoted, but you need visitors too.

Submit It

The best place to start is by submitting your blog to all the free blog forums and directories you can find. Doing a simple search for blog directories and/or forums will provide hundreds of results so find the ones you are comfortable with and utilize all they have to offer.

Leave Comments

Find blogs that are similar to yours and leave comments on all of them with a link leading to your blog. When you find blogs with a lot of viewers and you leave a comment and link, it will bring people to your blog. The more times you do this, the greater chance you will have of increasing your link authority.

Give Aways

Offer a promotional gift to your readers. This can be done in a few different ways, but one that works really well is to have a contest on your site. For example, if you have a blog about children, offer a prize to the person who leaves the funniest child comment. Prizes and contests bring a lot of readers, readers that will continue to come to your blog if it is interesting.

Word of Mouth

Make word of mouth your best friend by sending out emails to friends, family and friends of family a link to your blog. Chances are if you send it to them they will forward it to those in their address book.

Socialize

Social networking sites are great places to promote a blog. If you do not have accounts on MySpace, Twitter or Facebook now is the time to start one. You will be able to design a page that will link to your blog which will bring tons of new readers.

RSS

An RSS feed on your blog will allow readers to subscribe to the site and get notice of any updates you post. This will make it easier for a reader to know immediately when something new has been added to your site and saves them from going back continuously without finding anything new.

Q&A

Answer sites like Yahoo Answers and Answers.com can be a great way to promote your blog.  Search for open questions in topics related to your blog and leave answers along with a link back to your blog.  An informative answer will lead the readers back to you blog for more information.

Remember to keep your blog up to date by putting up new content regularly. If you started the blog and promised your readers new content daily, but do not follow through they will stop coming to your site. Make all attempts to add interesting and unique content to your blog. The best way to stay ahead of the competition is to know what they are doing, so read what your competitors are saying on a regular basis and try to find relative content that they might not be talking about.

I hope this was useful to you. Your feedback is very important to me. Please leave a comment. To get step by step  AdSense Information and instructions, I recommend my adsense guide, it is totally free.

Ten Great Tips for Building Audience Trust

Ten Great Tips for Building Audience Trust

Blogging has become one of the most popular pastimes on the internet. However, it does not have to be simply a pastime. Many people and businesses are now using blogging as a way to earn money, advertise their service, and share their knowledge with millions of internet users. In order to maintain those users as regular readers of your blog, however, it is imperative that readers are able to trust you and the content on your blog. Below are ten ways that bloggers can build trust among readers of their blogs:

1. Update Regularly

If people are intrigued and entertained by your blog, they will return frequently. However, if they are returning frequently and find that you do not write new posts often, they will stop visiting your blog.

2. Respond to Comments Posted on Blog

When people comment on your blog, they want to know that you are paying attention to those comments. A response can be a great way to earn people’s trust, even a simple ‘thanks for commenting’ can help you maintain readership.

3. Comment on Other Blogs

Many readers of your blog will be bloggers themselves. If you follow and then comment on their posts, they are much more likely to trust you as a fellow interactive blogger.

4. Integrate Other Sources

While blogs are a largely written medium, the internet offers the capability for video, audio, and photos to be added to your blog with ease. By adding such content to your blog, your readers will be continuously engaged.

5. Ask for Feedback

If you ask your readers for feedback, they will feel as though they are a part of the process of your blog’s creation. This will help them to trust you as you continue to post and even take some of their suggestions into consideration.

6. Proofread

If your readers have to struggle through grammatical mistakes, spelling errors, and confusing writing, they will not stick around long. It also detracts from your credibility if you are obviously not putting effort into producing a quality project.

7. Useful Content

There needs to be a reason for people to visit your blog. This can be anything from being useful for a good laugh to offering objective information on an important topic, but it should have some sort of content that people will want to read and perhaps even need to read.

8. Varied Content

Even if your blog is about a specific topic, in order to maintain readership and for them to trust that you are as interested in the topic as they are, you must approach the topic from a variety of different angles. Reading the same type of information that is presented in the same way everyday will not inspire anyone to regularly turn to you as an authority on the topic.

9. Build a Real Follower Base

Most blogging platforms have an option for displaying followers. It is important that you publicly display followers to your readers, as this demonstrates that other people trust you, and so new readers will trust you. Building a follower base can be as simple as following others’ blogs yourself.

10. Be a Human

When you are writing, commenting, and following other blogs, act like a human. Do not send spam or obviously automated messages to your followers or regular readers. They will not trust you if you do this.

Blogging is a great way to share information and to earn money by doing so. By following the ten ideas above, your blog will be trusted by your followers and you will be able to build up your blog and your reputation as a blogger.

I hope this was useful to you. Your feedback is very important to me. Please leave a comment. To get step by step  AdSense Information and instructions, I recommend my adsense guide, it is totally free.

Vital AdSense Information To Get Your Account Approved

Vital AdSense information to get your account approvedAnybody can apply for AdSense program but google does not approve all the applications. Google is very strict in their approval process so webmasters should be careful before applying for a publisher ID. Google does not disclose their approval process but from experience and research I have compiled some guidelines that will improve your chances of getting approved a lot. This post discusses the overview of the process, if you want to check out details of any area you have to refer to other articles in the website. For step by step  AdSense information, please visit:http://www.adsensehome.com/lessons/

1. Concept of your website

First and foremost read google adsense policies. Conceive your website with  Google’s Policies in mind.

2. Find out a topic

Google AdSense Informationlook for a topic which is of your interest. An easy way to find a topic of your interest is, what are the things or tasks that make you forget the track of time? Make a list of few such topics. One resource that can help you to find out the areas of your interest is, What color is your parachute, by Richard Nelson Bolles.

3. Do Keyword research on your topic

You may have your interest in a topic but the question is are other people interested in your topic area. You will be able to make money from the adsense only if you have traffic on your website. Your topic area should have at least following elements in it:
• Topic should be of your interest
• Select a topic around the keywords that have high search volume and low competition.
• keywords should have commercial value. Type your keywords in the google search. Do you see AdWords ads on the right side of the search results page. If there are not enough ads, your topic is not commercial enough. You will get paid for the adsense ads if there are AdWords ads available for the keywords.

4. Create a website

Register a domain name in your name with your correct information. Create a website. Following elements in your website enhance your chances of approval:
Professional look: You don’t have to create a piece of art but it should have professional look.
Easy Navigation: Your website should be user friendly. Visitors should be able to find content they are looking for easily.
Site behavior: As per googles guidelines, you may not redirect users to unwanted websites, initiate downloads, include malware or contain pop-ups etc.
Necessary pages on website: it is recommended your website should have ‘about’, ‘Privacy Policy’, ‘Disclaimer’ pages.
Competitive ads and services: you can not place competitive ads on your website. For details refer to google policies.
Blogger Blog: Don’t want to create a website now, create a blog on blogger. Some people also have opinion that it is easy to get approved for adsense if you have a blog on blogger and apply through that blog.

5. Create content

Like we discussed before, if the topic is of your interest, you will enjoy creating content. The result, the content will be interesting, original and inspiring. Create content for solving peoples problems. Imagine the profile of your visitor, what kind of solutions my typical visitor is looking for? Give them solutions, solve their  problems, they will love to visit your site again and again. How much content is enough? Different people have different opinions, but I would suggest at least 50 high quality  posts and some traffic to your website.

6. Traffic

Google does not say that your website should have traffic to get approved, gut it is recommended that before your apply, your website should have some traffic. How to get traffic, is a big topic. For details refer to http://www.adsensehome.com/lessons/

7. Review Googles terms again

Now verify your website complies with all of the google’s terms of service. If any changes are required, do them first and apply for google’s Adsense account.

8. Bottom line

Vital Adsense information to bet account approvalThe bottom line is Google don’t want to approve inferior sites for their ads. Your website should be professional looking, with high quality content. If you enjoy a topic all of this becomes a interesting journey. You enjoy working on your website and at the  same time you get paid for it.
I hope this was useful to you. Your feedback is very important to me. Please leave a comment. To get step by step  AdSense Information and instructions, I recommend my adsense guide, it is totally free.

AdSense for Internet Forums

AdSense for Internet Forums

Forum

One of the great advantages of the internet forums for you as a publisher is that the users create the content. Now, since you do not have much control over the content and the keywords, the ads supplied by the Adsense may not be relevant to the topic and sometimes can result in low CTR.

But we must realize that internet communities are hidden goldmines which have loyal visitors, unique content-that too created by the visitors and high level of user involvement with the content. By some clever strategies these forums can be converted into the cash generating machines.

Ad placement in Forums

Google has provided a heat map and optimization tips at the following location. Please feel free to checkout:

http://adsense.blogspot.com/2005/10/six-adsense-optimization-tips-for.html

AdSense for Internet Forums

Google's heat map for forums

Do’s

• Forum members are very much focused on the topic of discussion, ads on the side bars or on top of the page is not distracting to them.

• Top post on each page grabs most attention. Place a ad below the top post on every page.

• Place a horizontal ad just below the form buttons. This is the most visited area in a forum.

• Try putting ads at the bottom of each post.

• Add a google search box at the end of the last post. If the visitor does not find what he was looking for in the threads, he may like to do a search.

• Opt in for image ads. If you have good traffic but low CTR, you can get good revenue even without the clicks.

Don’ts

• Don’t break a post by putting ads in the middle of the post.

• Don’t mix a bunch of ads in the middle of the page.
